I recently ordered some fleeced and decided to become a Pinterest dog mom with at home dog toy crafts. I am really happy to say that overall I didn’t end up with any Pinterest fails! I tried three different crafts and am sharing my experience, of making several different no-sew fleece dog toys, with you.

1. Snuffle Mat
I had a lot of fun making this snuffle mat for Dustin. It took a long time but was overall pretty easy. I spent about 5 hours putting it together as I watched TV over a few days. I used cheap fleece that I ordered on Amazon, but if you wanted to be thrifty you could use an old cheap blanket or two, some old t-shirts or jeans, or other old fabric.
After making this snuffle mat I realized that I would probably have been better off just ordering it off of amazon because of how time intensive it was, but if you have old fabric laying around, and/or love to craft this is a pretty easy project and your dog will love the results. ou can

2. Square Knot Tug Toy
Out of all the toys I make I would say this was my favorite to make! It was fun, relatively fast, Dustin likes it a lot, and I now think it’s way more worth it to make tug toys than buy them.
I did make it a little more complicated for myself than needed, I decided to go with the fancy square knot. I made a TON of these in elementary school so once I remembered the pattern it was easy breezy. If you aren’t comfortable with this type of braid you could easily accomplish this same toy with a traditional toy.
If you have a bigger dog, or a strong tugger, I would probably recommend using thicker materials and/or doubling the pieces of fleece.

3. Water Bottle Bone Toy This was the most challenging of all the toys for me to make. It took three tries, but now that I have a system I would make it again!
If your dog like crinkly toys or paying with plastic bottles they will probably love this!
The key to this is cutting out the corners! If you do not cut out the corners you end up with fleece all over the place.
One way to make this toy even more fun for your dog is cut a slit in the fabric near where the top of the bottle is, and fill the bottle with treats before giving it to your dog. That way is is also a puzzle toy!
Safety First!
Like all dog toys, you should supervised your dog while s/he is playing with the puzzle toys, and check for broken pieces and other normal wear and tear.
