This checklist is designed to help you prepare for bringing your new puppy home. Everything is organized into sections so you know what things are for. If you right-click the image to the left you can print it and bring it shopping with you. Alternatively, here is an Amazon list so you can easily add everything to your shopping cart. http://a.co/bZkcKVi(Do not forget to get your dog an ID tag, Amazon would not let me add it to the wishlist because it is a custom item). Additionally, each item is listed on this post with an individual link.
CleaningNow let’s be honest, your puppy is going to make a mess. And at some point, probably a big mess. Here are some cleaning products to make sure you have on hand to make clean up a little easier.
The most important part of taking your new puppy outside is making sure he/she is safe. Second most important is to make sure your puppy enjoys his/her time outside. Here are the things you will need to make sure your puppy is safe and happy outside.
ToysYour new puppy NEEDS to play. This is non-negotiable. I suggest buying a variety of different toys so you and your puppy can discover what type of play they enjoy.
Your new puppy NEEDS to chew. This is non-negotiable. Here are a few chews that are easy of puppy teeth and tummies. By having appropriate chew toys out your puppy will be less likely to chew on inappropriate objects.
Your puppy should start by just eating whatever they were eating previously. If you want to change their food, wait until they are settling in. Take advantage of all the good behavior your puppy does by rewarding it with delicious treats!
Whatever food your puppy is already eating, kibble and canned food
Don’t wait until disaster strikes. Have a plan for your dog ahead of time. Often a puppy is more work than people realize, have a support system in place before you bring your puppy home.

Things your puppy does not need
A bedMost young puppies chew or pee on their beds. Wait until they are a little older before investing in nice bed, to ensure they are mature enough not to eat or pee on it.
A laser pointer
Never play with any dog of any age with a laser pointer.
